“I too like cats”, said a perky young woman in a red cardigan to a tall, handsome man with curly hair in a black suit and a black beaded bracelet on right wrist.

She pulled out her few childhood pictures on the phone. A white Persian cat with black eyes covered in fur sat on her lap.

“She is beautiful. I too adopted one in my adolescence. She was a Siamese with blue eyes. She died quickly like Milo over here — man

“How did you know my cat’s name?” — woman

“I.. didn’t.. could you excuse me for one moment?”, the man stood up and raced to the restroom.

The place was small. The floor was wet and reeked of disinfectants. It was vacant except for a janitor who was cleaning the mirror. He caught a glimpse of the man in the suit entering an empty stall. He noticed his bracelet.

A couple of minutes later,

The janitor wiped the mirror clean and saw the reflection of the man standing next to him splashing water on his face. It was a short, bald, hideous looking figure. The bracelet glinted on his hand.

Janitor had goosebumps. He stood dazed and toungue-tied. The man in the suit left.

The woman informed her friend with the latest developments. She put her phone away when she saw him.

“Your hair is wet?” — the woman

“I splashed some water” — the man

The couple soon left. They hugged and bid goodbye.

The woman felt peculiar. Her mind lingered on the oddities of her date. How did he know about her cat, she had never mentioned it to him, nor has she shared it on the social network.

The man in the suit swiftly walked to an alley. His curly hair disappeared, his stature declined. He slowly metamorphosed into his original self. I will make her fall in love with me one day, he was determined.
