If I could go back in time…
“I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them” – Andy Bernard, The Office
If I woke up 10 years younger, I would have blurred vision since I used to wear glasses at that time. I would be a sophomore, studying Computer Science engineering, living with my family, travelling to college as a day scholar with my lunch box prepared by my mother (shameful I know, as I didn’t know how to cook then).
But this time around, I will not behave the same way I used to in my 20s. The first thing I would do is get out of my comfort zone. Join as many student clubs as I can, network, perform on stage, face my fears. I will focus on all round development. And most importantly enjoy my college life.
I remember when I joined, initially I used to crib a lot about not getting into desired college after 12th, hating my subjects, programming, faculties, and pretty much everything. Things definitely changed for better, I got a hang of my college, made some friends, got used to the surroundings and the new environment. But I always stayed in my comfort zone, never challenged myself in any way. I didn’t push myself to become better, just worked enough to secure good scores and that was it.
But this time I would spend more time with my family and go on family trips, one thing I wish we did more. As you get older and start living on your own, you definitely wish you had spend more time with your family and not wasted innumerous hours on computers or other stuff which you thought were more important. I think when we are living with our family we take them for granted, only to cherish those moments much later in life.
