A tall, wrinkled old man wearing a Gatsby hat hobbled across the aisle of the plane and stopped next to a seat where a young woman sat. She was buried in a book. He cleared his throat and gently asked the lady if she could take the window seat. The woman looked from her book and gasped in horror as the man standing was none other than the notorious serial killer Charlie Hart who was released from jail a few years ago after completing his term on account of his old age. She quickly recovered and replied in affirmative. She hid her fear and pretended to be alright. The man wore a jacket with a tiger print. It seemed fitting like a predator, loose from his cage, came face to face to his prey. Finally, when all the passengers were aboard, the plane was signaled to take off. They were instructed to fasten their seatbelts. The old man struggled with it since this was his first time. The woman helped him. He thanked her and enquired about her book. She showed him. He told her he too shared her interest of reading and talked about various books he has read over last seven decades. She was astounded on how well his memory is even after so many years. On surface level she remained calm, but on the inside, she was petrified of him. She had read about that man’s modus operandi, how in younger age he tricked his victims, he gained their trust with his charming talks and eventually when their guard was down, he drugged and strangulated them to steal their identity and rob them of their belongings.
